Personal Coaching Services
Coaching creates a creative, collaborative, and dynamic space where you will find clarity on where you are, what you want, and how you will move forward. The coaching space is guided by your personal agenda. Coaching provides a supportive container for reflection, perspective, championing, and accountability. Coaching focuses on the whole person; we focus as much on how you want to "be" as what you want to do and achieve. In coaching sessions, we will use powerful processes, embodied energy, intuition, challenges and stretches, to open up new, transformative, pathways. Sessions can be in-person, by phone, or virtual.
While coaching may begin with a specific topic such as career, personal growth, life-work balance, etc., it ultimately boils down to one thing: essential purpose. Consider how the following areas may be helpful starting points for your personal journey. You may find that what you discover while solving one particular "problem area," will most certainly apply to other areas of your life. Why is this so? Because it all starts and ends with you and how you put your priorities into action.
Topics
Career Coaching
Most of us spend near 50% of our waking lives working. Hopefully, your work is aligned with a sense of purpose, or otherwise fits within a fabric of sustenance in a more-or-less harmonious way. Optimally, we can make work “work” for us. Career coaching can help you move toward thriving, whether in your current field or job, or somewhere else. We can evaluate where you are now: what is working, what could be improved, and create a plan that is more closely aligned with your sense of purpose. We will visualize what synergy looks (and feels) like at the intersection of your gifts and the needs of the world. This may lead you to become a more effective leader within your current organization, to innovate solutions, work better with others, feel greater happiness and fulfillment, or even to make some bold moves. And when it is time for practical steps, such as applying to a new job, interviewing, and negotiating an offer, I can support you there as well.

Clarity and Purpose
Work with me to explore your deep interests and values to gain clarity on how you can best show up in the world. How do you bring your gifts forward? What are the risks and rewards? We will work together to create a space for visualizing your optimal self and explore how to work around the barriers you see, either real or perceived. See what happens and what shifts when you consciously claim your personal North Star.
Personal Effectiveness
Do you have a hard time making the changes you know you need to make? Are your wheels spinning? Do you feel exhausted by the tired, old, routines? Let’s work together to discover how some surprisingly small tweaks can open to a vibrant sense of aliveness and clarity. What do you need to say “yes” to? Where in your life can “no” be a complete sentence? See what happens when this dynamic cascades through all facets of your life.
Life Transitions
We know it when we feel it: change is in the air. Sometimes it arrives quietly in the night and other times, it may strike like lightning. Some major transitions, such as loss and grief for a loved one, may be best handled under the supportive care of a licensed therapist. Other kinds of transition can be very hard in their own unique ways, whether around career, purpose, retirement, establishing new habits, wellness, spirituality, relationships, and well, you get the idea. Transitions invariably involve the loss of something familiar, followed by a period of uncertainty, and then the embrace of something new. How can you support yourself, maintain perspective and persist through change when it can seem so hard? We will work together to identify what can be available to you in this very moment, to open new resources and ways of being. We will look at what is currently hard (and exciting!) and evaluate how to be real with it in a way that is healthy and kind to yourself. What wisdom and resources do you have available right now?
Wellness and Spirituality
What does balance feel like? Does contentment fill your bones? Many of us are explorers of the forest edge, living fully in the world of work, family, and friends, yet simultaneously drawn to the more mysterious timbres and shades. As a longtime explorer of life’s scenic byways and mysterious pools, I share this curiosity and thirst. It may be unusual to hear about spiritual and wellness “goals”; Ram Dass even released a movie with the ironic title: Becoming Nobody! It can be useful to set a goal to clear time and space in our busy lives to promote well-being. And conversely, how can we infuse a sense of well-being into the busyness, wherever we may find ourselves?
Whether you are interested in exploring a new activity like meditation, or if you seek support in reducing stress, or would like to change your relationship with food, we can explore what this all means for you and how to foster sustained, integrated, change.

Academia
Academia can be an inspiring but sometimes challenging place.I know this from over 20 years' experience in higher education. Coaching can help students, faculty members, and staff members achieve their goals and reach their full potential. As a student or graduate student, coaching can provide a supportive and encouraging environment to help you navigate challenges, such as time management and stress, and develop an action plan to achieve success. For faculty members and staff members, coaching can enhance leadership skills, career development, and provide tools to manage workplace challenges, communication, and burnout. With coaching, you can develop confidence, resilience, and skills to succeed in all areas of your life.

Arts and Creativity
Whether you are an artist, writer, musician, or generalist creative, actualized or aspiring, we can create space to explore how you can nurture and develop your gifts, find and deepen your learning, and naturally evolve your projects to fruition. We will explore some common gremlins, such as perfectionism, FOMO, and imposter syndrome, and cast those little buggers out! Art can be hard sometimes, for certain, but when you can assemble the magical ingredients for your creative flow, sustain the zone, and creatively say “yes” and “no”, you may be genuinely surprised at the results.
